Week 1
El Jugador is picking Oregon 31 LSU 17.
On paper this appears to be a cracker week 1 match up with the loser possibly being eliminated from the national championship race.
With the game being played on a neutral site in Arlington, Texas there is no home field advantage, so I’ve picked Oregon to win.
With both programs having their own off field problems leading up to the season the squads will be keen to get back on the field and put their problems behind them.
LSU has lost senior QB Jordan Jefferson indefinitely after allegedly being involved in a bar fight. This leaves LSU with a junior college transfer or backup senior Jarett Lee to lead the tigers at QB this year.
Although, LSU is strong in bringing back 14 starters from an 11-2 team with a coach in Les Miles who won the BCS title in 2007 I feel they are somewhat over-rated.
On the other side Oregon & coach Chip Kelly returns with star QB Darron Thomas and Heisman finalist RB LaMichael James leading a high powered offense that averaged 44.8 points per game last season.
Oregon does need to replace 11 starters from last year’s squad, still they will knock off a LSU team that had some lucky wins last season, especially since LSU has a big question mark at QB.

Dr College Football is picking Boise State 31 Georgia 27
They always say the first week is the one of the hardest to predict, both teams are fresh and there is only spring practise to go off.
First off this is not a mutual field it is at the Georgia Dome, so it is more like having a swimming race in your next door neighbour’s pool, sure you’re not home but your close enough.
After analysing this for over an hour and playing the two teams in NCAA 12, I am still at square one and think Boise being a favourite to win is a big call.
Georgia have a better running game and their defensive line should be a powerhouse this season so why does everybody love Boise?
It could be because even though they lost some very good players last year they still return 16 starters to their line up (5 D-line and 3 outside Linebackers (YIKES). Or it could be just my main man (Mr Accurate) Kellen Moore.
Georgia did also lose two rushers and their best wide receiver in school history.
These days you seem to always see a game which is rested on two QB’s, this one is no different with Murray needing to show a top notch performance if Georgia is to win.
If Moore lights up the dome it will be bye bye Georgia, if he doesn’t the bet that was placed on Boise to win the BCS will be gone and Dr College Football will be left in tears and he may just flee to Mexico.
In 2005 Boise got smashed by Georgia, but that was then and this is now and it should hold no relevance in this bet. Take note all you Georgia fans on YouTube who continually post up videos of the 05 Georgia killing Boise.
Let’s just hope that Murray does not bring his own ball to the game and rack up 300 yards plus.
One game will define the Boise season, so here is to hoping they win it.
