week 12 GOTW

Nebraska v Michigan

Hello Taylor ‘Corona’ Martinez, you are a jet and ever since I have thrown Mr Interception aka Denard Robinson to the wolves you are my new favorite running quarterback.

Both teams sit behind that useless Michigan State team by one game in the Big ten Legends division. So it only heightens the intensity of loose and forgot about playing in the big championship game.

Even though this game is at Michigan I see them loosing to Nebraska because of their dynamic option game which Nebraska has tallying up quite a good ground game.

The benefit of having Martinez and the option game is he can either run or pitch it to his jet of a running back Burkhead who already has 1,000 + yards and 14 touchdowns.

Burkhead is an absolute stud and although he is a bit of a power back he has the speed to out run a pretty ordinary defense. Yes Michigan I am going to rag on you at every opportunity during this article.

Last week Nebraska headed to an emotional charged Penn State game and showed they could take that hit and get the win.  It is no different to heading to ‘the big house’ aka ‘the loser house’ Nebraska needs to absorb it and win it.

The main hurdle for Nebraska is depending on which Michigan team shows up, if it is the awful Michigan team Nebraska will cream them. If a good Michigan team shows up (highly unlikely) Nebraska will be in a bit of a trouble.

Robinson aka ‘Mr Interception’ should throw 1 or 2 picks which should continue to keep the ball in this dangerous rushing teams hands.

Nebraska allows 161 rushing yards a game so hopefully they don’t give up that much against this Michigan team, their D-Line must improve. If this happens Robinson will be forced to throw or try and run the first down and thats were the problems will arise. The young man tried to do to much for the puperines (because there certainly not wolves).

Martinez is no saint when it comes to not turning the ball over either but he is better than Robinson and thats why I can see Nebraska putting up more points to win in an offensive charged game.

Interesting stat Michigan have lost their last five straight home games against ranked opponents and I see it being the sixth this weekend.

This game will start the rivalry.

Arizona Vs Arizona State @ Tempe, AZ

I’m liking the look of this game. On paper it might not seem to exciting. BUT with ASU trying to lock up the PAC12 South, things could get interesting.

Arizona is an impressive 2-8 with a “big” win over UCLA & N.Arizona….What a resume! Then add in they fired coach Mike Stoops.

This is the perfect game for Zona to come out firing and crush ASU!

With senior QB Nick Foles, AU has a chance in just about every game: 3612 yards through the air and 23TD’s, Foles is doing as much as possible. AU is 4th nationaly passing for 368.3ypg. while scoring at 29.3ppg.

The passing game is getting it done!

Where they need more contribution is from the D and the rushing game. Currently AU top 2 RB’s Keola Antolin & Kadeem Carey haven’t taken enough pressure off Foles. Is that the fault of the coaches or that these 2 aren’t pac12 quality rushers???

Only rushing for 824 total yards with 9 TD’s. Antolin needs to step up and lead the rushing attack. Yet as a whole the recieving corps are putting up solid numbers, but i’d say not making enough big plays!

The top 4 recievers have comined for 2000+ yards, 14TD’s on 203 catches. Pretty good really? What they need is for their star WR Juron Criner to step up. He leads with 57/693/8. Good but well down on his production as a junior. If Criner wants to be a high selection in the NFL, this may be the game to get the scouts attention.

The D is the major issue. No stars, no sacks, only 8 as a team….. Giving up 36.1ppg, thats good for 110 out of 120 teams. Thats straight up bad. They will need to grow a spine and really flex their muscles to stop ASU.

Especially seeing that ASU posses a stud QB in Brock Osweiler. This sculpted Mr Atlas is the reason ASU is in position to win that PAC12 south title. ASU is sitting pretty with a 6-4 record with 4-3 in PAC12 play. While that isn’t overwhelming, its good enough at the momment.

Osweiler is leading a good balanced offense that is scoring at 34.2ppg While racking up a solid 438.6ypg, 297.1 of that through the air! Brock has solid stats himself, 2890 yards with 20TD’s. with a solid 64.8%.

He not alone though, With a very solid RB/WR combo. Cameron Marshall & Gerrell Robinson. With Marshall being the workhorse at RB. He has pilled up 837 yards with 14 TD’s. If he goes down they may be in some hot water as the 2nd leading rusher is WR Jamal Miles.

Speaking of WR’s to like, Robinson is a stud! Leading the team with 901 yards & 5 TD’s. What really catches my eye about Robinson is his 18ypc average.

At 6-4 this player is a BIG target that still gets deep, a very dangerous weapon. As for the Sun Devils D, i just love LB Vontaze Burfict. He is the spiritual leader of the ASU D which is giving up 23.8ppg.

As for Burfict, this man will be a star when he reaches the NFL and is a favourite of El Jugador. 2nd on the team with 56 tackles, he also is leading the team with 5 sacks. He also has a pick, he is just a stud!

So even though Zona is struggling look at last years result: a 30-29 2OT win for ASU. It has me thinking this really will be a good riviarly game with a bit of emotion! Will we see another fight from AU like they had with UCLA?????

We will find out soon enough! I see Arizona State winning 38 – 24.

The 2 stellar QB’s will put on a great show!
