What an exciting game we have here! Both teams come in ranked with Oklahoma #1 and Florida State #5
Now as a Seminoles fan it really pains me to say I’m picking Oklahoma in this match up:
SUPERMAN (IMNC)
What the Seminoles have is a strong defensive line & a strong overall defense, but what FSU really needs is there QB EJ Manuel to play the role of Clark Kent aka superman. If he can do that the Seminoles have a good shot at the win.
However, Oklahoma has a very strong overall team. Which is why they are currently ranked #1 in the nation! The Sooners also have the benefit of having last week off giving coach Stoops & his staff 2 weeks to prepare. OU’s dynamic tandem of QB Landry Jones & WR Ryan Broyles should keep the OU offense rolling.
If the offensive line keeps Jones’ jersey clean OU should keep rolling.
OU also has the recent memory of blowing up FSU last year in Norman, With the final score being 47 – 17. A macho man Randy savage style beat down.
Will Florida State avenge that loss? I don’t think so.

Utah @ BYU
Utah 14 – BYU 27
Jeez I am excited two teams from Utah will face this week in the battle of the “Holy War” – it’s Mormon city baby.
In the last 14 years there have been12 games decided by less than a touchdown the game always produces a show.
With both teams 1-1 it looks to be a game that could at least set up a respectable season – Though BYU should have never dropped that game against Texas last week.
Watching part of the BYU v Texas game we saw class early from BYU until ‘Shadow’ M’coy enters for Texas and it was a different story.
Utah on the other lost to an improved but still average USC team and had their chances to win the game as well.
If Utah or BYU want to win this game their offense has to get better, last week both squandered chances in the second half to score. It was frustrating to watch two good quarterbacks in Heaps (BYU) and Wynn (Utah) not being able to find receivers and move those chains.
Although people are predicting a Utah win, it may just be because they joined a great conference in the Pac 12 because I don’t see it.
BYU return 15 starters this year and besides a brain snap in one half of football they should be 2-0 remembering a good win against Ole Miss week 1 in Mississippi.
I like BYU a lot because of my main man Heaps will find his form like he finds religion -quickly.
I am looking for him to put up big numbers against a pretty average defense, especially against some young Utah defensive backs. BYU has some underrated receivers also which should help the passing game yet again exploit weak defensive backs in Utah.
Reading a recent article ‘Wynn stressing smarts over arm strength’ made me realise this was a kid who quite frankly has neither.
Even with BYU also having some concerns in defense Wynn will be slow to their explosive rush and will be looking over his shoulder all game like a young man who is peeing in an alley.
