Week 4 GOTW
El Jugador Arkansas vs Alabama @ Tuscaloosa, AL
Another great match up here. 2 ranked SEC teams in Alabama #3 and Arkansas #14 in the AP poll.
Bama has won 19 straight SEC openers. That’s right 19 consecutively, in a row and is still only 2 years removed from hoisting the national championship. Arkansas is a “very impressive” 1-5 at Alabama since 99. So with that in mind I’d say the crimson tide is sitting pretty.
Now, how can the razorbacks give bama a scare? Well They can ask the NCAA to look the other way & bring back Ryan Mallet, Felix Jones, Darren McFadden & Peyton Hillis to run the offense. Some how I don’t think this scenario will happen & Traveling to “Tuscawinner” really wont help their cause either.
Now the tide; what’s not to like? Coach Saban has this team rolling. 3-0 with a easy away win over a then ranked Penn State 2 weeks ago has me loving them again.
There is a reason I picked them as my national champs and this game will prove why. QB AJ McCarron has settled in and can lean on RB Trent Richardson & WR Marquis Maze to make the plays that really count. Also the tide averaged 101,821 fans last year, that is a real home field advantage!
I see Alabama 31 Arkansas 7.
That’s right a blow out…. Something Dr college football doesn’t have the onions to call.

- El Jugador
Dr CFB -LSU @ West Virginia
LSU 24 West Virginia 10
LSU (2) head to West Virginia (16) this weekend in another top 20 clash in what should be a reasonably solid game.
As El Jugador said in our podcast last night LSU has a man’s defense this is not a defense full of 18 year old bodies who just came out of high school. This is a defense which is explosive, powerful and darn right scary. To put it in a perspective if this defense was a person and you saw it in a dark alley, you would hand over your wallet, phone and any valuables even if it didn’t ask for it.
LSU safety Brandon Taylor seems to think West Virginia will be even lucky to score (espn,2011).
I thought I was harsh on West Virginia predicting them to score 10 points considering their averaging 42.
WVU QB Geno Smith looked great last weekend in their win, so I expect him to try and light it up early, but beware of the interceptions my friend.
Thats why LSU will win because even though they have some minor concerns at quarterback with Jarrett Lee their defense will shine through. Lets face it Lee is looking ok but certainly not great and has been helped by a pretty decent running game as well.
Even though I see West Virginia probably winning the Big East title I do not see them winning this game.
You guys know I love quoting streaks so here is another won LSU has won 35 non conference games in a row and is soon to be 36.
