Upsets Week 13
will start things off by saying im not happy picking this game, some would call it a foolish pick!
And There is nothing harder than predicting a Big East conference game but here i go.
Syracuse @ Pitt, Pittsburg, PA
Im going with the Orange to knock off what i call a very overated Pitt squad. On the year both sides are 5-6 with the winner becoming bowl eligable.
The Orange have dropped 4 straight but this is when they bounce back!
Offensively they dont do any one thing very well. More so just a solid balance. QB Ryan Nassib has had a solid season throwin 2460 yards with 21 TD’s.
He has a workhorse in the back field in Antwon Bailey. Bailey is the only used running back putting up 998 yards & 6 TD’s. If Bailey can rush well, its a great start for Syracuse.
WR Alec Lemon has stepped up as the goto wide out. He leads with 60/735/6 With Nick Provo proving to be a solid 2nd option with 46/500/7. As stated, not big stats but they play as a team and move the football when they need to.
As for Pitt. I called Utah to “upset” them earlier in the season & im seeing the same result. Stats wise, Pitt is very similar to ‘Cuse. They aren’t high in any major statistic. Once again like Syracuse, Pitt is scoring at 25.1ppg while giving up 22.6ppg.
Pitt’s biggest problem was the loss of their star RB Ray Graham. Graham was injured agaisnt UCONN after 2 carries & since then they have been sliding. Graham was looking at a possible Big East player of the year, with 164/958/9. QB Tino Sunseri is another worry to me. Throwing for 2174 and only 9 TD’s, simply not enough. With the 2 leading recievers Street & Shanahan only just collectively over 1000yards.
As for this “ferocius” Pitt Panthers D, im not impressed. What they do well is hit the QB, with a team total of 36 sacks. And leading the charge is Aaron Donald with 10, thats probably the most impressve individual stat!?
At the end of the day i dont trust Pitt one bit! With a bowl bid on the line & being at home……This is the kind of situation that brings out the “choking” side that is the Pitt Panthers.
Nassib wins it for Syracuse 21 – 10, Pitt just fail.

Georgia v LSU
LSU your dream ends here because Dr College Football with a PHD in upsets is predicting it. The game is practically in Georgia’s home field though that did not help them against Boise early in the year called by yours truly.
Enter Aaron Murray, LSU versed Arkansas offence last week and the slick cat at QB Tyler Wilson got the Razorbacks the first two touchdowns. Now we all know LSU stormed back and creamed the Razorbacks.
However, in those first few moments I saw missed assignments, sloppy coverage and missed tackles. With the pressure of LSU needing to win this game to play in the NC I do not see it happening.
Prepare for BSC turmoil because lets have a look at some oozing talent on Georgia offence. Aaron Murray is an absolute star who has light up the skies and enjoyed a great year. Isaiah Crowell the true freshman who has more swagger than Dr CFB and after a shaky start is hitting his straps after having an ankle injury sideline him last week.
Mitchell and Charles are also starting to contribute in the receiving corps and should give the best secondary in College football a run for their money.
Yes we all know about the mans man defence which I have talked so much about, though I think Murray will get the edge.
I am also worried that Georgia in the past two and a half months have not played anyone that decent and in their first two games when they played top calibre opponents they lost.
Now is a chance to right that wrong and earn some hard earned respect against an awesome LSU defence and an ok offence.
I have always thought that the LSU passing game is somewhat suspect and against SEC teams they have done little and relied on special teams, defence and a rushing game.
If those big Georgia linemen can stop Ware and Spence we truly will have a game on our hands. If not well LSU will win, but I am backing on those boys getting stopped in their tracks.
