Week 7 Upsets

Week 7 offers plenty of upsets but as with most upsets, the good ones are all playing on the road.

So after umming and ahhhhing i’ve decided this game is the best chance at pulling of the upset!

Utah Utes @ Pittsburg Panthers, Pittsburg,PA

Will The Utes do this to Ray Graham? El Jugador hopes so!

I’m liking the Utes in this match up.

The Utes so far haven’t played up to the potential in the PAC12, however they are a perfect 2-0 in non-confrence play including that crushing 54-10 victory over BYU in the “Holy War”

On The otherside of the coin, Pitt had a good win against a ranked USF but followed that up with a massive let down agaisnt an average Rutgers side.

The 10-34 loss to Rutgers proved to me that once again Pitt is just another average BIG EAST team that will push for a BCS bowl game but manage an average 8-4 record.

Utah’s Jordan Wynn has played much better this season at QB, if he continues to improve (and do a lot of praying) Utah should be in a great situation. As a team Utah has had their struggles in the PAC12 but if they play like they did against BYU, they will role this over rated Pitt squad. The offense as a whole isn’t as productive as you want, but JC transfer RB John White has been productive and if he can give them 100 yards plus on the ground that would be a great help for Wynn. What will help the offense the most will be the Wideout corps stepping up.

The Utes D is also playing well, even though they have an overall loosing record they are only giving up 21 points a game.

Now the one thing standing in the way of a good upset is Pitt’s RB Ray Graham. Graham has thrived as the number 1 back. He’s leading the NCAA in rushing with 899 yards. Lets just call that 150 yards rushing per game. Thats just flat out impressive. Even with Graham beeing the work horse the team as a hole isnt highly ranked in team rushing, just 44th overall.

That all said and done, i just dont believe in this Panthers team. Well, they could surprise me & make me look like quite the fool……. but i don’t see it. This team is still esentially a coach Wannstedt team: DO NOT TRUST!

Believe it or not i think getting away from home & out of PAC12 scheduling will help Utah.
Plus overall Utah is 2-0 agaisnt Pitt with a win last year in the oppening week.

Utah 17 – Pitt 10

Michigan (11) @MichiganState(23)

Does anyone know if Denard Robinson is healthy?  If so the Wolverines are going to beat  their ‘smaller brother’.

Smaller brother.  The Spartans are looking to win their fourth straight against the Wolverines this weekend so how are they the smaller brother?

MichiganState’s defence is also number 1 in the country, but why am I not dubbing them a mans man defence like I have with LSU andAlabama.

Well, look at the second rate opponents that they have played Florida Atlantic,Youngstown StandCentral Michigan. I could go play defence out there and get a few tackles and a pick 6 against those teams.  Probably not El Jugador but I could.

Now don’t get this confused I am not saying that the Spartan defence is not good just that their not as great as their ranking perceives them.

The same could be said aboutMichigannumber 11 ranking who have had a pretty weak schedule and enjoyed the benefit of not travelling until last week against North Western.

Dernard ‘Shoelace’ ‘Mr Interception’ Robinson is the x factor and the man who will win this game for the Wolverines.

The boys said it before in week 2 against Notre Dame, stop Shoelace stopMichigan. The problem with Shoelace is you can stop him for 3 quarters until he just decides to take the game over and in that 1 quarter he can drop 21.

His counterpart Kirk Cousins from MSU can not win this game off his own back and if the game againstOhioStatetaught us anything it is this offence is all dink and dunk hoping for the best.

Even thoughMichiganhas a pretty bad defence who lets teams score and gives up yards MSU will not threaten with any big plays.

Dont believe everything you hear about this defence

MSU will still score though, so forMichiganto win this they need a shoot out and can’t rely on their defence to hold MSU under 21.

RoyRoundtree,Michigan,Wide Receiver said “Coach said make big plays” and young man you need to forMichiganto win this game.

I still see Shoelace and his receiver’s corps putting up decent numbers and winning this game.

Shoelace rushes for a touchdown to win the game.
