Week 9 Upsets

#22 Georgia VS Florida @ Jacksonville, FL

Now this is not at Florida’s home in the swamp, but playing in Jacksonville is more or less a home game for the Gators.

Get me out of my mind........Chris Rainey

This is why i like them in this game.

The records would say that Georgia 5-2 is the better team with Florida sitting at 4-3.

That’s where I disagree. Georgia is a fraud. That may sound a bit harsh but I don’t like them one bit!

I base this on their week 1 match up against “little” Boise State, the Broncos just out played & out muscled the “bigger” SEC side.
Georgia had the home crowd in the Georgia Dome & couldn’t even knock off Boise…… How good can Georgia really be?
Since their opening to loses also South Carolina, they have strung together 5 straight, once again, LOOK at who they beat:
Coastal Carolina, Ole Miss, Miss State, Tennessee & Vandy. That’s hardly death row as schedules go!

What I worry about is sophomore QB Aaron Murray & true fresh RB Isaiah Crowell, individually they can both win the game by themself, HOW EVER:

Florida has quite the winning streak against Georgia; some would say they own them. Much like El Jugador owns Dr College Football in all things sports & game related!

The gators have knocked out 3 straight wins and what I find most impressive is they have won 18 of 21 in “recent” history! Really, think about that…….

For the majority of the Georgia players, they have only witnessed 1, 2 or 3 victories over Florida! IN THEIR LIFE!

Florida, though struggling still have an Urban Myer team, with plenty of NFL ready talent. Even though they have lost junior QB John Brantley for a few starts, they expect him to start & lead the gators offence.

Florida  has struggled in the last 3 weeks with losses to #3 Alabama, #1 LSU then #24 Auburn. That’s a truly hard schedule.

So with Brantley starting and some stud playmakers around him: RB/WR Chirs Rainey who leads the team in rushing & receiving.

RB Jeff Demps, who has speed to burn. Then the wide out trio of Deonte Thompson, Andre Debose & Frankie Hammond. This offense that can put up some big numbers, they just need a full 4 quarters to show it.

All considered the Defence is still solid, giving up only 18.9 ppg, good for 16th best. Plus they still have stud linebacker duo Jelani Jenkins & Jonathan Jenkins, The gators D is still as talanted as ever!

If they can get some solid pressure & hits on Murray & stop Crowell from running wild, The Gators SHOULD WIN! Just look at the history of this bitter SEC rivalry!

 Florida 27 Georgia 21…………

 Gators get back on track.

Stanford @ USC

I know I know this is the third week in a row USC has featured in a Doctors article, but come on Stanford vs USC the match is probably going to be game of the week EVERYWHERE.

Barkley aka ‘Mr Southern California’ vs Luck aka ‘Mr Perfect’.

Owusu & Fleener ‘the dynamic duo’ v s Woods ‘the one man receiving side show’.

The Doc loves California and it is no different for California football with these two teams having not only great powerful offenses, but over the weeks I think their secondaries is showing something to.

Stanford are No. 4 ranked in offense and while much has been talked about Mr Perfect everybody seems to forgot about the dynamic running game they bring to the table. Last week Stanford rushed for an amazing 446 yards and are 17th in rushing, impressive.

USC have also proved they are the real deal this year with wins at Notre Dame and at California while Stanford proved last week they are a National Championship contender.

So who to pick, well I am going………….USC. And I am picking this game on the sheer arrogance of Matt Barkley the man who may say too much but then backs it up. Barkley is like a glass of Johnny Walker Blue on a winter’s night, he’s crisp and clean cut when you first see him pouring out, with him wearing his emotions. You see him like you see the glass with ice half full but think its ability is surely not as good as it seems. But finally you try it, and it’s so smooth (his throwing) and all you can think is thank God I invested in a premium brand.

You are such a stud. Mr California 400+ yards this week

Fans Mr California is a premium brand (QB).

Stanford will not give though up so Barkley and Woods better bring their A game.

The past 2 weeks I have identified Tyler as their premium running back and two weeks he has let me down so the saying for this game is ‘Beat the Secondary BEAT STANFORD’ .

On USC defence I still love TJ McDonald to make plays but I don’t think Luck will be turning the ball over like Cal and Stanford.

Just hope that the Trojan D line can have a respectable game to keep Stanford’s offense off the field. While RB DJ Morgan needs to do something for the Trojan running game.

Sure USC are at home but in a big game like this it means nothing and if anything I think playing away in a big game is a lot easier as the pressure is not as intense just ask Notre Dame last week.

Stanford is also No. 4 but it’s time for a 6-1 USC team to show that although they cannot play for a bowl they are a Rose Bowl team.

Finally don not read into the hype of USC problems this week with ‘star recruit’ Dillon Baxter apparently quitting on the team.

Here at College Football Betting we make it part of our policy to not openly criticize any player but Baxter was not fitting in with this team and would probably be better off elsewhere.

FINALLY: Stanford Sucks, Better Luck Next Year (Oregon,2010).

USC 41 Stanford 37

The game of the season.
